Incorporating this feature into the lens requires the permission of the camera manufacturer, which is why we can offer an autofocus lens in the ZA product range. Re: the introduction of a ZF/ZE style lens in other lens mounts, this decision depends on customer demand and securing IP rights.
It’s ironic, that there is no Sony Alpha/Minolta mount. There is a Sony/Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 equivalent for Sony, but it is a Japanese lens. None of these real Zeiss lenses are available for Sony Alpha, which is a let? down. The would work great on Sony Alpha 900. Why isn’t Zeiss supporing a company which they cooperate with? Even stranger thing is, why do the support competition which is Nikon, Pentax, and Canon? Anyway, I love all metal lenses. I have an Olympus OM lens, and it’s awesome!
