Nikon D300 with 18-55mm lens and 55-200mm lens or Nikon d90 with a 18-200mm lens? I don’t mind switching lenses but.. What do you guys think is a better deal?
I’m sorry, I have to disagree with Fhotoace for once.
Superzooms have problems. You can take steps to avoid dust on your sensor by changing your lenses quickly and facing the body down when doing so; but superzooms are slow (in terms of aperture) and have problems with vignetting, softness, etc.
The D300 is a powerful camera, but make sure you are up to it.

I would suggest you buy the D300 with D10 battery grip and the 18-200 mm VR. The D300 is a much sturdier camera and one used by pros to supplement their D3′s. They pick the D300 for a reason.
The relative difference in cost will in the long run be well worth it to you, since the release of the new D300s has driven the price of the D300 down.
Unless you have two bodies, changing lenses can be a pain and add the risk of introducing dust into your cameras lens/mirror chamber and eventually having it get on your sensor.
I’d go with the D300, but make sure the 55-200mm lens is VR2. The new line is coming out soon. I have the D300, but the lens is all that matters. I have a 18-55 lens and a 55-200mm VR lens. One’s for wide angle, the other is for Telephoto. But make sure you know what all the functions of a SLR before you go into a D90 for that matter. If not, go with a D5000.
