I’m in grade 10 and am going on a Euro Trip next year. I am wanting to purchase an SLR from either Canon or Nikon. I’m not wanting to spend more than $1000. Which one should I get?

I need to find out whether Nikon or Canon is better. I already have a Nikon SLR, and and two Nikon lenses, and they work great. I want to buy a new camera, one with better quality. Which one has more features and a better quality? Nikon, or Canon?
