Land Of The Tiger – Episode 1 Part 1


Fantastic documentary on the wildlife of the Indian subcontinent. This first episode gives an intro to the 6 episode series and then looks at tigers.

    You would have expected the Asian lion to have gone extinct by being absorbed into the tiger (through breeding), glad to see it’s still there for us to appreciate, though with such a small commnity So close to the tigers, that’s probably the largest threat to it’s survival.? Those elephatns were quite something!

    Strange thing that. I think there are leopards in the Gir Forest area but i dont think there are tigers there. I am not? sure.

    I’m also glad to see that there are still lions in Asia. I’d read something about that but seeing it is completely different.It makes me? so happy !

    There? are no tigers in Gir forest but their are leopards. Leopards can survive with both tiger and lions, their plus point is getting climbed on a tree taking its kill too….

    I think Tigers keep? to more jungle terrain whereas lions in more open ground.Leopards everywhere imaginable.There are leopards here in the UK although govt denies it. Black leopards

    There is plan to move Lions from Gir forest to Kanha national park…That would be first time to see tiger and lion? in a single jungle…But not sure how it will impact, lion is social but tigers live alone. Please watch the documentry “last lions of India”….Not sure it is on you tube but it is great..
