Corbett National Park:
Located in the foothills of the Himalayas in the state of Uttaranchal is the audacious Corbett National Park. With the coverage area of about 1,200 sq kms, Corbett National Park is home to a diverse assortment of flora and fauna. It is primarily famous for its tempestuous population of Leopards, Tigers and Elephants.
Established in the year 1936, Corbett is India’s first national park and the first sanctuary that is under Project Tiger. It attracts thousands of nature lovers and tourists with its great variety of vegetation that is ideal and makes it ideal home for Tiger and other animals.
Corbett national Park is named after in the honor of the late Jim Corbett, a British hunter, naturalist, author and photographer. In the Park you can see about 110 species of tree, 50 species of mammals, 580 species of bird and 25 species reptiles. Chital, Sambhar, Jungle Cat, Fishing Cat, Blacknaped Hare Himalayan Palm Civet, Common Otter, Indian Gray Mongoose and Porcupine can also be seen.
