Can Any Nikon 35mm Lens Work With Any Nikon Slr Camera?

Sorry if it sounds stupid but as I posted before, I am a amateur photographer. I found a camera I’d like to buy, but it’s body only so I’m trying to find a 35mm lens. Should I look for a specific one or can I just buy any Nikon 35mm lens?
Or, If you have a site that sells good lenses, please leave the link. That would be a lot of help, thanks!

    Short answer – yes.
Here’s a complete chart and article that explains how Nikon has created a vast system that supports legacy camera bodies and lenses. I’ve used 25 year old lenses on my latest Nikon DSLR bodies and vice versa.http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/compati…http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/compati…
As far as brands go, Nikon lenses would always be the best choice, but there are other brands that make respectable optics at good prices. For alternative, look at Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. Avoid other “generic” brands. Here’s a great site with user reviews for all brands of lenses.http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/
As for sites to buy, after researching what I need and want, I frequent my local Craigslist and Ebay. For online vendors, I’d suggest these.http://www.bhphotovideo.com/http://www.ritzcamera.com/http://www.amazon.com/?tag=kenrockwellco…http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?sid=1…

No, not all Nikon lenses work with all Nikon cameras.
there are 3 types of Nikon cameras – manual, Auto Focus Film and Digital. All the lenses can be mounted but not all can use the specific programing of all cameras.
Go to http://www.nikonusa.com to find out what works with what, then go to http://www.bhphoto.com for good prices on them.
    Good luck

I DONT KNOW as I have a digital Cannon SLR.
The answer to your question is it should do as other companies make cheaper lenses which will fit a Nikon, ie Tameron. I had a Pentax 35mm and a Vivitar lens, it fitted my Pentax P30 but when I up graded to an auto focus Pentax Z20 even though it was a zoom lens and not auto focus it did not fit even when you could change the camera to manual focus. IF you are taking up photography as a hobby I surgest you go digital because the different film speed available for 35mm are getting less, and didital cameras have come down a lot in price since they first came out. Good luck, but never take advice from photo mags as they are sponsered by camera companies…………………….
