Should be, at least on the higher Canon models. I've got an investment in Pentax lenses, and had to wait until they came out with a model that could handle the K mount. Canon is usually quicker on the stick.
Of course, some functions will not work with the old lenses, but if it's a good enough camera you should be able to operate it fully manually anyway.
I'd dig around at the Canon site. If you see the puppy you want, check out reviews for it on epinions.com. I got lots of info for Pentax that way...
Have a blast.

As long as you are using an EF-mount, yes, your film lenses will work (and also should autofocus) on current Canon Digital SLRs. Just one thing to keep in mind, depending on the model you purchase, you may have what is called a crop factor.
Canon's XT/XTi/XSi/XS (brand new, recently announced), as well as the 20D/30D/40D are cameras that have a 1.6x crop factor (the image will appear to be zoomed in by 1.6x). So a lens that is 70-300mm will actually appear to be 112-480mm lens.
Canon's 5D is full-frame (there is no crop factor). These are just some things to keep in mind when using your lenses.
